Intra-Lingual Assignments for our Translators
Quite apart from regional dialects some languages register huge variations in usage. Though Arabic is spoken in Morocco, Egypt, Iran and Kuwait the vocabulary in each of these countries is peculiar to that specific country. Idioms and imagery acquire distinctive local flavour. This is well discerned only by those translators who as native speakers specialise in that variant of the language.
For that matter, there are many aspects to Chinese as well. It has, for all practical purposes, a common script but the languages themselves are different: Mandarin (high form of Chinese actually from the Peking dialect), Wu, Cantonese or Min. It follows then that also in these Chinese languages translators are provided by translation agency SATZGEWINN.
Exceptions: Adaption and Interlinear Translation
Discerning translators convey contents, messages, statements, instructions, emotions and so on. This concerns as much scientific ideas or literary subtlety as legal indefeasibility or medical unambiguousness.
In different languages translators from SATZGEWINN's network specialise in creative texts. Novels, short stories or comics most often tend to be adapted. In this realm, the emphasis is particularly on the message and impact of a text. There is a certain history behind the cultural context of many non-European languages.
Take the instance of Manga comics: the space constraint of a speech balloon often requires paraphrasing without compromising on the gist. So "Please step inside" simply becomes "Enter" or "C'mon in".
Interlinear translation is at the other end of this scale. They mainly comprise of texts with practically no use for technical terms, foreign words, metaphors or idioms. From our portfolio of languages translators are at your service even for such texts. This applies to, say, grammar books for lessons in foreign languages and the translations help understand texts and grammatical structure of foreign languages.
In the broad spectrum on offer for non-European languages translators from our pool of experts specialise in specific texts or topics. How can we be of help to you?
