Qualifications and Certifications

Professional translation and interpreting require much more than excellent language skills. Academic training, specialist knowledge, professional experience and a strong sense of responsibility are essential for delivering accurate and reliable results.

At SATZGEWINN®, your documents are handled by academically qualified translators and interpreters. For certified translations, we work exclusively with translators who are duly authorised or sworn by a German court.

Academically Qualified Translators

The professional title “translator” is not legally protected in Germany. This makes verifiable qualifications particularly important when selecting a language professional.

Academic translation programmes provide extensive training in linguistics, terminology, translation theory, text analysis and intercultural communication. They also prepare translators to work with demanding specialist texts in fields such as law, medicine, technology and business.

Qualified Interpreters

Interpreting requires outstanding concentration, an excellent memory and the ability to understand complex information immediately. Unlike translators, interpreters usually have no opportunity to consult dictionaries or conduct additional research while working.

Academic training therefore includes interpreting techniques, specialist terminology, linguistics and practical exercises in different communication settings.

Court-Authorised Translator

Katrin Scholtyssek is a graduate translator and is authorised by the Higher Regional Court of Cologne to produce certified translations. These translations are issued with a certification statement, official stamp and signature.

Certified translations are frequently required by public authorities, courts, universities, registry offices and employers. They may be needed for certificates, diplomas, court decisions, contracts and other official documents.

For additional languages and specialist fields, SATZGEWINN® works with an international network of academically qualified translators, interpreters and editors. Each professional is selected according to the required language combination, subject area and intended use of the document.

Translations are generally assigned to native speakers of the target language. All documents and information are handled confidentially throughout the project.
